Job Description

The Executive Director will work closely with the VP Corporate Operation and Regional Head of Supply Chain Management in delivering operational excellence within Trade Compliance. which, due to their complexity, strategic nature or confidentiality require dedicated management at the leadership level. The Executive Director is a dynamic thought leader with strategic experience who will successfully lead the Olympus Corporate Trade Compliance organization’s optimization and operational excellence initiatives in accordance with established practices of the company’s Trade Compliance functions. The successful candidate will have a proven track record within this functional areas, and substantial team leadership experience. This role will have direct accountability for defined deliverables set by the VP Corporate Operation and Regional Head of SCM or company's Executive Committee, will interact regularly with the senior leadership team and will maintain extensive cross-functional relationships to ensure success.

The focus of this role within Trade Compliance Operations will be on expanding the company's efforts across all aspects of Trade Compliance to improve our operating procedures and remediate historic deficiencies. In this respect, the candidate's commitment, oversight and leadership will be critical for success and will require devoting all efforts to ensure the following: Timely completion and submission of deliverables for Government agencies and other external stakeholders, Recruitment (where appropriate), development and training of skilled resources to strengthen the Trade Compliance function at OCA, The Operational areas of responsibilities are as following: New Product Introduction, Export, Trade Compliance Policies, Procedures, Risk Assessment, Monitoring, Training, etc. and Trade Operation. Job Duties

  • Set strategic direction and establish associated metrics for Operational execution within Trade Compliance operations with accountability for execution of these functional areas, including Operational KPI’s and budget tracking.

  • Collaborate and closely partner with Business Leaders and Subject Matter Experts to successfully lead specific initiatives, as assigned.

  • Collaborate with Trade Compliance Governance on all remediation activities along with go forward governance and execution of Trade Compliance Operations.

  • Drive decision-making that creates medium- and long-term improvement. Manage the flow and exchange of confidential information and streamline interactions with leaders and drive assigned initiatives on behalf of the VP Corporate Operation and Regional Head of SCM.

  • Review ongoing performance of any assigned direct staff members and participate in their development programs to provide for the continuity of managerial and specialized skills and ensures appropriate succession planning for the function.

  • Value and model excellent Trade Compliance operational management by establishing goals and implementation plans to achieve high-quality deliverables within expected timeframes. Monitor progress, manage risk and ensure key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes. Take corrective action as needed. Track and provide status and audit reports for these operational functions.

  • Responsible for ensuring execution excellence will be operationalized and measured via dashboards, predictive analytical models, metric management, and advanced reporting capabilities.

  • Develop, implement, and lead OCA’s Trade Compliance program with integrity and fiscal responsibility for both direct employees and vendors.

  • Partner with cross-functional leaders in Legal, Trade Compliance Governance, Supply Chain, Compliance, R&D, Business Development, Finance, Customer Operations, ITS, Global Functions, Procurement as well as with external stakeholders to ensure all Trade regulations are followed.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent knowledge and experience in business administration, trade compliance (import/export), supply chain management, logistics or other relevant field of study and experience.

  • Minimum of 10 – 15 years of progressive leadership experience, with proven track record in management, operations management, business process optimization, or process improvement, with measurable outcomes; with demonstrated focus and proficiency in change and stakeholder management. Experience with working, communicating, and facilitating across multiple layers of organizational structure; demonstrating comfort with both front-line employees and Executive or C-Level stakeholders.

  • Minimum 10 – 15 years of professional experience in a trade compliance or supply chain in a high-volume environment.

  • Minimum 10 - 15 years’ experience leading a multi-entity/business unit trade compliance program.

Preferred:

  • Advanced degree preferred.

  • Trade Compliance Broker’s licenses preferred.

  • Track record of successful leadership and delivery within a matrix organization.

  • Will work with global and governance teams, availability will include working across the associated time zones. International and domestic travel.

The anticipated base pay range for this full-time position working at this location is $137,913.00 - $206,869.00 / year, plus potential for annual bonus (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements). Olympus considers a variety of factors when determining actual compensation for this position including: level of experience, working location, and relevant education and certifications.
