Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Instructional Technology, or related Business field is required.
Minimum of 6 years of experience developing instructional design content, exposure to learning management systems, or working in a corporate learning organization.
Ability to manage, create, and revise information through SharePoint, Excel, Articulate Storyline and/or other software tools.
Advanced MS Office skills required.
Ability to travel minimally, up to 10%.
Familiarity with Learning Record or Management Systems or similar relational databases and reporting is essential.
Strong understanding of internet technology, as well as the development and deployment of Internet-based solutions is highly desired.
Ability to be trusted with confidential information.
Strong analytical skills, ability to create viable solutions, innovation, and ability to execute flawlessly are essential.
Ability to apply critical thinking skills to solve problems, develop content, and troubleshoot technical issues.
Ability to focus on and complete projects in an environment with competing deadlines.
Ability to effectively manage and influence others through collaboration, especially individuals who are not direct reports.
Expert understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design, and development.
Ability to quickly adapt to and master new technologies and processes.

In a typical day, you will:
Create, develop, design, and deliver eLearning content using supported applications (such as Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, etc.).
Work with translation partners, voice over talent, and other 3rd parties as required to accurately and efficiently translate both text and audio content.
Work with vendors to efficiently resolve any technical or performance issues related to learning content or systems.
Establish and maintain productive relationships with business unit subject matter experts, content owners, and internal developers on content-related projects.
Upload, test, revise, and assign content as required in the LMS staging and production environments, including deployment of SCORM 1.2, AICC, and other relevant content or package types.
Monitor and manage the effectiveness and functionality of all created content by using available reporting and analytic tools.
Ensure quality assurance and compatibility of content across all Olympus platforms and devices, including mobile.
Support Learning Systems and Technologies.
In collaboration with Learning Technologies management, create, implement, and update best practices/standards, work processes, style guides, templates, and controls to ensure the creation of effective and engaging content that is compatible with all Olympus devices and platforms, and compliant with applicable regulations and policies.
Participate in and support the annual validation of the LMS, as well as the validation of other tools as required.
Analyze and resolve content, process, and system issues in collaboration with rest of Learning Technologies team to ensure positive learner experience and outcomes.
Address service ticket issues regarding content and/or content issues within the LMS.
Take on other job functions and responsibilities as necessary to support the learner, the business, and the L&D and Learning Technologies missions.
Perform all other essential duties as assigned.

The Instructional Design and Technology Specialist is responsible for the design and development of content for the LMS (Learning Management System) and related technologies to drive efficient and effective learning and help maximize employee and business performance. Through the implementation of best practices and design standards for effective and engaging multimedia learning, he/she optimizes knowledge transfer and the learner’s experience with the LMS and related learning technologies. Also, the incumbent provides, participates in, and supports the evaluation and validation of learning systems, learning technologies, and partnerships with vendors and external support resources for development and design projects. He/She consults with internal clients and analyzes training and performance needs, partnering to select and execute learning solutions in accordance with Olympus policies, procedures, and standard practices.
