Job Description

The Principal Test Engineer – System Integration is a senior level principal contributor responsible for defining and performing Verification and Validation activities in a regulated environment. Working closely with development and product management teams, you will be responsible for creation of strategic and tactical test plans for integrated hardware / software system. As a part of the team, you will be creating and executing manual and/or automated test cases and produce test reports. Knowledge and experience with testing automation and automated test tools is a must to optimize and perform fast and repeatable testing.

Job Duties

  • Leads V&V activities for several System Integration related products in a regulated Medical Device space.

  • Develops strategic and tactical test plans, as require by the project. Obtains required reviews and approvals.

  • Creates related testing documentation to ensure conformance to standards and Quality Management System processes, including test cases, requirements traceability, risk mitigation testing.

  • Develops and manages automated testing framework, test cases and tools.

  • Exercises independent judgment and discretion by prioritizing, planning and tracking project progress.

  • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders, to understand customer needs, project objectives and schedules.

  • Creates related testing documentation to ensure conformance to standards and completeness.

  • Collaborates with Quality and other engineering leads to create/ update / manage test engineering tools and processes.

  • Manages the Test Engineering labs and all equipment within the labs.

  • Review and update technical documentation as required.

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline, such as EE, ME, System Engineering, Computer Science is preferred.

  • Equivalent experience is acceptable, we value experience as much as formal education.

  • Minimum of 9 years’ experience in the fields of software and system testing, quality assurance, system engineering or related.

  • Medical device experience preferred.

  • Other Considerations (travel/hours availability, etc.): Occasional travel may be required.

Preferred:

  • Proven background in product verification and validation testing using manual and automated methods.

  • Proven experience and understanding of software and system testing strategies, such as integration testing, workflow testing, data driven testing, functional testing, system testing, performance testing within agile framework.

  • Proven experience of developing and executing test cases in software and integrated hardware / software system testing environments.

  • Experience with formal product verification and validation regulations and processes in regulated industry, preferably medical devices.

  • Proven experience in developing, performing and managing manual and automated testing of software and integrated software / hardware systems.

  • Experience in test automation tools such as Selenium, Cucumber, Cypress.

  • Experience in system performance testing using tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, others.

  • Experience in creating / maintaining automated testing scripts, using scripting languages such as JavaScript, PowerShell preferred.

  • Demonstrated capabilities to work effectively in cross-functional areas such as R&D, Quality, and Regulatory Affairs.

  • Experience in following internal process documentation, such as SOPs and WI adhering to the government and industry regulations.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to clearly communicate expectations, provide clear and honest feedback, and identify areas for improvement.
